A scorpion and frog meet beside a stream and the scorpion asks the frog if he would carry him across on its back. The frog asks, "How do I know you won't sting me?" The scorpion says, "Because if you do, I will die too." The frog is satisfied and they set out but midstream, the scorpion stings the frog. The frog begins to feel the onset of paralysis and starts to sink. Realizing they both will drown, he gasps, "Why?" The scorpion replies, "It's my nature..." ---ancient fable

When the "Scorpion" in Chris Reno strikes, his nature is to sting and he will. His venomous stinger comes in the form of his rope-on-bone musculature, all packaged in tattooed skin as tough as rawhide, and purely motivated to inflict as much pain as necessary. This predatory man, all muscle and energy, actually relishes the way he captures his prey, making him the man keep one eye on at all times. His litheness, his slightly veiled and uncertain persona, his motivation to win at all costs, defies logic or explanation. Always aggressive and intense, Chris Reno is slated to become the enigmatic force at NEW just as long as he doesn't let his personal struggles stand in his way. His downfall may be that he is his own worst enemy, but he readily admits, "It's who I am." Or did he mean, "It's in my nature...?"
