show report

New Era Wrestling was back in action last Saturday. The show opened with Awesome Dewey Brown, now known as The Total Package Dewey Brown, defeating Dave Nevada with a small package. Dewey, when questioned by ring announcer Artie Kidwell about his new ring outfit, responded that he had gotten some good advice from some friends (Shock & Awe on a recent edition of NEW Hotwired: Backstage Blast) to just be himself and he came straight from work.

In the second match of the evening, The Bulldog Garf Redman (w/Ghetto Fabulous) defeated Phantom. Ghetto had tossed a chain into the ring for the Bulldog to use, but before Redman could strike Phantom with the weapon, Phantom took the chain away. Referee Lil Rocco then took the chain from Phantom. As Rocco disposed of the weapon outside the ring, Ghetto tossed a second chain into Redman who used it to KO his former partner.

The Prettiest Man in NEW Sebastian Steele made his debut being interviewed by Artie Kidwell. Steele proclaimed that he would soon have gold around his waist and nobody could stop him. This brought The Punisher Brad Callaway to the ring. Callaway made sure Steele knew that in NEW you have to fight your way up the ladder, and it doesnt matter who you are or what you have done in the past. Callaway challenged Steele to a match later in the show.

Lightning Tim Lutz defeated Mr. Every Night G. Cute following a blockbuster neckbreaker.

Sebastian Steele defeated The Punisher Brad Callaway by DQ. Steele attempted to use the tag team title belt on Callaway, but then handed him the belt and took a dive. The referee had been momentarily distracted and when he turned around to find Steele laid out and the tag title belt in Callaways hand, he assumed the Punisher had used it as a weapon and called for the bell. Steele left victorious in his debut and seemed happy to have pulled off the ruse.

DJ Tom Sharp defeated Midwest Independent Champion The ReEnforcer Devlin Anderson to win the title. It was a wild back and forth contest between these two, which ended with Sharp hitting a huge neckbreaker to pick up the win and become Midwest champion for the second time!

Jay Donaldson retained the Heavyweight title over Nick LeBeau in a Tap Out or Knock Out match. Before the bout LeBeau introduced the fan who he has involved in several matches lately as his girlfriend, Sandra. He promised that he would win the title and didn[base ']t care who got hurt along the way. It was a hard hitting contest between these two, which saw LeBeau go flying into three rows worth of steel chairs at one point. In the end LeBeau demanded that Sandra slide a steel chair into the ring so he could use it on Jay, but when she refused LeBeau lost his cool and went to get a chair of his own. Meanwhile Sandra slid a chair into Jay, who then used it to blast LeBeau over the head. Donaldson then locked on his submission hold and LeBeau had no choice but to tap out!
